Sarah Sutro is an artist and writer. Her abstractions and landscapes express patterns of light and movement. Watercolors realistically depict light, water and land in simplified bands and areas of color. Ink drawings express movement in graphic dots and marks, evoking moving fields of energy. Abstract paintings and drawings create fields of texture and luminous color. The infinite and the particular, the small mark becoming large passage, overlapping washes of natural color reflect the process of growth and organic change in nature.
